Your Pastor’s Heart

Our God is truly good and faithful. As I think back on 2008 I am amazed at how our Lord has continued to bless our fellowship at RRC. We experienced wonderful growth in our fellowship, our ministries, and our vision, but I believe the greatest growth was incurred within as the Lord has been exposing deep truths about His church and His children.
The Lord has shown us the need to deeply examine ourselves (individually and corporately) that we may do a better job of reaching the Next Generation for Jesus Christ. Time and again He has revealed the fact how more and more of our children are leaving the faith and pursuing the gods of this world. We have been losing the battle for our children.
As pastor, this has forced me to ask myself difficult questions concerning the state of the American church and to examine how effectively are we (RRC) reaching the Next Generation for Christ. This requires an honest examination of traditions, models and programs that drive our church. Through this process I have discovered some foundational truths about God, His methods, and His church. Three things have become very clear: 1) We cannot blame anyone but ourselves if we don’t reach the Next Generation, 2) We must get back to the foundations that God has taught throughout His word, 3) Families are the core discipleship center for children.
I am looking forward of how our Lord is going to mold and equip RRC to better accomplish the task of reaching the Next Generation for Jesus Christ. Our theme for this year will be:

As for Me and My House
Laying the Foundations for the Next Generation

Join with me to do what ever it takes to reach and retain our children. They are the Next Generation.

In Christ Alone,

Brother Johnny
